Contractor Notification Letter for

Edison Elementary

3125 N. Hancock Ave.

Colorado Springs, CO 80907

According to federal regulations, School District 11 is required to notify all contractors who perform work in its facilities with information regarding known asbestos materials in the facility.

Each facility has an asbestos management plan which describes materials and material locations, and the District's plans to manage the asbestos materials. The management plan is available upon request from the building administrative office staff.

The following information is intended to ensure contractors do not disturb asbestos material while working in the building. This notification letter is not intended to imply that all asbestos containing materials in the building have been identified, or that hidden materials may not be found by the contractor during the execution of the contract. Any suspect materials discovered during the contract must be assumed to contain asbestos, and work will be stopped until the material is sampled and analysis completed verifying asbestos content.

Various other hazardous substances may be found in District buildings. The contractor should speak with the Building Manager to inspect the schools hazardous material inventories to ensure the project will not involve disturbing any hazardous materials. Any questions regarding environmental issues in School District 11 should be addressed to Environmental at 477-6021.

School District 11 understands that accidents happen. If at any time any of the listed materials are damaged by the contractor, the contractor must stop work and notify the School District

Environmental Service office at once by calling 477-6021. Please be prepared to give the following information to ensure proper response:
