QUESTIONS FOR RFQ 12443921Q0012
The bid documents refer to these as containers. Are the shortleaf pine to be tubelings?
Shortleaf pines must be containerized, not bareroot. In the past, contractors have used North Carolina Forest Service Tree Seedling Store for seedlings and shipped them directly to our Ranger Station.
The RFQ calls for 33 AC. To be planted.
Does the USDA have a number of trees per AC. That is excepted to be planted?
Planting will need to be done with a 16 x 16 spacing, with allowable variation where necessary due to ground conditions as long as the number of properly planted seedlings per acre is within 10% of the total number per acre. For this spacing the prescribed number of seedlings is 170, this would mean that 5,610 seedlings would need to be planted.
