Discussion Points:

· Solicitation for demolition, earthwork, disposal of lead containing items, concrete, rough carpentry, repair/replacement of shingles, repairs of supports, construction of wood stairs and railings, and paint. Site regarding at conclusion of work.

· Note that mobilization costs are a separate line item on the Schedule of Items

· There is a base bid item (foundation replacement) and three bid items. The Forest Service will determine which, if any of the options items will be awarded after review of all offers received

· This solicitation has been set aside for 100% Small Business

· Project Magnitude has been estimated at between $25,000 and $100,000

· Wage Determinations do apply to this solicitation and any subsequent award

· Quotes are due July 10, 2012 @ 1:00 p.m. local time. Offers may be mailed or hand delivered to the Utah Acquisition Support Center (address is shown in block 7 of the SF-1442 Solicitation Form), or faxed to 801.975.3483

· If offerors intend to fax their submittal, please contact Tamera Draper (phone: 801.975.3370) prior to faxing

· It is the offerors responsibility to continually check the FBO website for any amendments made to this solicitation

· Bonding is required on contraction awards greater than $30,000. Bonding costs are to be included in the mobilization line item on the Schedule of Items and will not be paid as an additional cost elsewhere

· Questions and responses that arise from this site visit (that are not already addressed through the solicitation package) will be posted to the FBO website within 48 hours in an Amendment. The signed amendment will be a required form that shall be returned with the solicitation package

· Review sections L and M for Instructions to Offers and the Evaluation Process for award of this project

· Pay special attention to Section H for the information addressing Fire Instructions. With the extreme fire situation that is being encountered through the state this season, this section is especially important

Paradise Park Site Visit Notes and Clarifications June 28, 2012 Shelley Hill-Worthen

1. The contractor may wash out concrete materials on site in an area designated by the Contracting Officer’s Representative. The contractor must prepare a lined pit for the wash out area. Haul off and dispose of any waste concrete materials at the conclusion of the contract.

2. In addition to re-grading the site as directed by the contracting documents to drain away from the Guard Station building, the contractor’s will remove galvanized steel water service, valve box and a 30” dia. tree stump at the rear of the guard station. Existing rocks may be used to create retaining at the rear of the property.

3. Before reinstalling existing water table trim, consolidate the materials with “Liquidwood” by Albatron or “Primate” by Advanced Repair Technology. The contractor shall repair areas of damage and rot before reinstallation, consulting with the COR for guidance to make the rim rodent tight.

4. Fence posts required to be removed to move the Guard station will be stored appropriately and reinstalled at the direction of the Contracting Officer’s Representative.

5. Nail optional ½” OSB to existing 1 x deck using 8d nails, 6” OC on panel edges, 12” OC in the field.
