Answers to Questions Solicitation: AG-82FT-S-15-0009 5 May 2015 What is the cost/price/annual value of the current contract?

$35,740 Annually

Is the 28,790 sf of cleanable floor space listed in the solicitation, the total cleanable square feet for all of the locations in the solicitation?

Does the 28,790 sf area include the greenhouse and shop?

Building 82B, the Southwest Forest Science Complex at 2500 S. Pine Knoll Drive, Flagstaff, AZ (also known as “the Lab”) has a total of 28,790sf. Of this amount, 1,805sf is infrastructure and NOT considered space requiring cleaning . Of the remaining 26,985sf, 8,431sf is laboratory space and either will not require cleaning or, if needed, will require minimal cleaning upon request. The rest of the square feet is broken down as 12,142sf common space and 6,412 office space (18,554sf total) both subject to cleaning.

Building 82A, the Greenhouse & Shop Facility at 1500 S. Lone Tree Road, Flagstaff, AZ (also known as “the Greenhouse”) has a total of 18,995sf. Of this amount, 12,142sf is infrastructure or greenhouses, cold storage, shops or other areas not subject to receive janitorial services. Lab space (minimal service on request) equals 3,311sf. This leaves 444sf of office type and 3,098sf common area (e.g. hallways, entryway, offices/labs as offices) that is subject to cleaning.

Are the janitorial duties for the new solicitation the same, decreased or increased, compared to the current contract?

Most of the duties remain the same or very similar in terms of detail and frequency. The major difference between the solicitation and the current/previous contracts is the provision of supplies. Currently and in the past, the Government has provided the supplies. In the new solicitation the vendor will provide the supplies. We have added the annual cleaning of upholstered furniture. On the other hand, we have decreased the general cleaning (dust/damp wipe/polish) of the common areas from two times to one time weekly (although the Contractor is responsible - on a daily basis - to ensure the common areas are always presentable). Additionally, the previous contract called for the semi-annual strip/wax/burnish of all tile floors in the Lab. We have changed that to apply only to the common areas and have decreased to annually the laboratory floors – if the scientists want the Lab floors waxed. This also applies to carpeted areas: previously, all carpeted areas in the Lab were to be cleaned/extracted semi-annually. That has been changed to only the carpeted common areas are to be addressed semi-annually and carpeted offices will be done annually.
