3. Are we sure the 1993 asbestos report is sufficient per NESHAP requirements? We did a demolition project in 2012. We submitted a report from 1993 by the same inspector for that project.
It was accepted by NESHAP. We have not done anything to the Mingus building recently in regards to asbestos sampling or testing. The only other testing that was done was the sampling & testing of lead-based paint at Mingus Work Center in April 2016. The roof was replaced 10 years ago so all the asbestos on the roof was removed.
4. Was it sampled? Can the forest service send out the roofing report that verify that it is clean? Ophelia will provide the report on the roof. A pre and post sampling was done on the roof and Ophelia will try to find those reports and provide it along with the amendment.
a. Because as contractors we need to have those reports to properly go out there and demo the building.
5. May we have a copy of the asbestos report?
Yes, a copy of the report will be included in the amendment.
6. The demolition of the repair tower will need to be coordinated with the COR who will speak with the Fire Center. This is part of the national fire support and we have numerous trucks and helicopters in the area at one time. The rappel tower sits right next to the helipad.
7. Does there need to be dust abatement with the rappel demo? Yes
8. Is there water on site for dust abatement at the rappel tower? Yes, there is a hose bibb located 80 feet from the rappel tower that is available for contractor¿s use. A meter and/or backflow preventer may be required depending on amount of water needed and equipment to be used.
9. Will the gate be closed closest to the rappel tower? If you need the gate closed, we can coordinate with Cory Brunsting and the fire center.
10. Does the sidewalk come out? Yes, it will be included as part of the work for line item #3 for demolition of rappel tower.
11. Is there any special equipment the Forest
Service wants to keep off of this tower? Yes, please remove and salvage the light(s) and associated connections off the rappel tower.
12. Is there lead-based paint in the walls at the
Mingus Work Center? No, Ophelia had it tested in
