Q2. Will the rock be accepted in segments?

A2. No, the rock will not be accepted until all of the rock has been placed for the entire length of the job and upon verification it is to the lines and grades established in the construction specifications and drawings.

Q3. If a major hurricane occurs and fills in the access channel will the contractor be reimbursed for having to re-excavate the area?

A3. No, the contractor is responsible for the job site until final acceptance has been made.

Q4. Under the rockfill specification it states

"orange peal or clamshell buckets shall not be used to place rock riprap" Will the NRCS consider the use of this equipment to place the rock?

A4. No, the specification will not be changed and the contractor will need to bid the project as per the specification.

Q5. Temporary signs - Due to the soils in this area, it is unknown where the soil will spread during spoil placement as part of the excavation operations. How is the contractor to ensure the signs are installed before the hazard is present as is required in the specification?

A5. Adjustments may need to be made in the field due to this occurrence; therefore, final temporary sign placement will be made based on these conditions; however, the contractor needs to be ready to set these signs as they are performing the construction that creates these hazards.

Q6. Will spoil be allowed to be placed on top of the Chevron pipeline depicted on Sheet 10?

A6. No, it will be placed away from the pipeline or in another location in or near the vicinity of the pipelines; however, it is not anticipated that there will be a large amount of material in this area.

Q7. The MH and ML water elevations do not appear to be shown, will these be provided?

A7. The MH and ML water elevations are shown on

Sheet 23.
