Solicitation AG-6395-S-17-0032, Plum Pox Virus Testing

Question:

On “H. data output” of page 8 of the modified solicitation, it requires the sample moisture content for each sample. Can you confirm that this is part of the work? If yes, should we just take one leaf out of the sample packet for testing the moisture as we need to save the sample packet for future testing if needed?

Answer:

The intent of section H is to understand the condition of the sample when it arrives and is processed. It’s a simple qualitative variable – wet or dry – and does not need to be measured. Just record wet or dry.

Samples arriving “wet” should receive expedited processing as decay will be enhanced if stored under this condition. When the wet samples are processed excess moisture should be blotted off before leaves are torn and weighed. This will help ensure accurate weights on each sample.
