ADD Fence Bldg. 225 Animal Working Area 15-Aug-16

Replace fencing for building 225 animal working area

Requirements

*Replace fencing with pipe continuous fence (approximately 280 lineal feet) and pipe reinforced solid fence (approximately 124 lineal feet)

All materials must be rust, corrosion, and/or rot resistant.

All fencing and gates to be metal of sufficient strength to contain/withstand large adult cattle, horses, and bison

Ground Requirements:

Install firm crushed rock/gravel base (average about 3") and level to grade

Horizontal Fence Requirements:

Continuous metal fencing of sufficient strength to contain/withstand large adult cattle, horses, and/or bison

Metal posts with thickness range .190-.210 inches and NLT 3" outside diameter.

Metal posts should be anchored in cement with 64" in height above ground, 3' in ground and NTE 6' apart.

Horizontal bars NLT 1.75" in diameter with thickness range no less than .140 inches

NLT 9 horizontal bars with spacing on center (from ground) of

4" (bottom), 10", 16", 22", 28", 34", 40", 52", 64" (top)

Solid Fence Requirements:

Continuous metal fencing of sufficient strength to contain/withstand large adult cattle, horses, and/or bison

Metal posts with thickness range .190-.210 inches and NLT 2.875" outside diameter

Metal posts should be anchored in cement with 64" in height above ground, 3' in ground and NTE 6' apart.

Horizontal bars NLT 1.75" in diameter with thickness range no less than .140 inches

NLT 6 horizontal bars with spacing on center (from ground) of 4" (bottom), 16", 28", 40", 52", 64" (top)

Solid metal panel (with thickness NLT .10 inches) welded to horizontal bars inside of chute/animal pens

Metal panel to have thickness NLT .10 inches and be welded to horizontal bars inside of chute/animal pens

Metal panel to NO sharp edges or protrusions that could potentially injure animals

Gates - Placement as marked on Map (size approximate)

Gates to be 12 feet

When hung gate clearance should be approximately 6" and top of gate should be NLT 58"

Bar spacing on gate must not exceed spacing of horizontal fence.

Gates to be able to swing 90 degree each way from a closed position

Spacing around gate NTE 4" on any side and NTE 2" on latch side

Roof over three small holding pens (east side)

Roof to cover NLT 16 feet of east end of each pen

Clearance to top of west edge of roof NLT 9 feet with slope of roof to 8 feet at East end.

Fence posts to extend as roof support with NLT 3 posts per pen side and one post at rear center of pen (15 posts)

Roof support to include metal pipe attached to extended fence posts as follows:

NW corner to SW corner (4 posts)

Middle North to middle south (4 posts)

NE corner to SE corner (4 posts)

Roof Sheeting to be heavy gauge corrugated metal

East side of roof to include rain gutter with attached downspout at Southeast corner

Removal of Old Fence

Remove and dispose of all wooden fence as indicated (approximately 300 feet)

Assure postholes are filled/packed

NADC will dispose of gates
