Question and Answers #2

1. Can a quad and small trailer be used to transport material to the observatory?

See contract provisions regarding approval for use of equipment on the trail. It is likely that a quad would be allowed on suitable portions of the trail.

2. If a helicopter is used to drop off supplies, is there enough clear space at the site?

The contractor will have to make their own determination of site suitability for helicopter operations.

3. Do any of the existing trails that need to be demo currently have base rock? If so does this need to be dug out?

If "Base Rock" is imported shot-rock type materials, the answer is no. Excavations will certainly encounter solid rock, see contract provisions.

4. Does the concrete need to be tested by a third party for the observatory work if the contractor uses 4000psi bags of concrete?

This will be addressed in the upcoming solicitation amendment.
