About this file

This document is Addendum #2 for Request for Proposal 71-Q2024-14 issued by the University of North Carolina at Pembroke Purchasing Department for Campus Laundry Services. The procurement opportunity is soliciting proposals for laundry services across campus facilities, with responses due on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM EST. The addendum clarifies specific details about the project, including confirming the equipment inventory at Belk Hall (7 washers and 7 dryers) and addressing vendor questions about vent cleaning requirements.

The addendum reveals that the vendor will be responsible for vent cleaning in high-rise campus buildings, which must be performed twice annually as required by state inspectors at the vendor's expense. As part of the procurement process, the successful bidder must submit a signed copy of the addendum with their bid response. The document suggests there is a current incumbent laundry service provider who is familiar with the campus's unique infrastructure and cleaning needs, indicating potential continuity of services with this new solicitation.

Reference Vendor Question Answer

5.1 Specifications, Letters I, J, K, R, S; pages 15, 16, 17, 18

As the current incumbent, we can accurately share that there are multiple high rise buildings on campus that require vent cleaning to be performed from the outside in areas inaccessible to any commercial laundry company. These vents must be cleaned by outsourcing to a vent cleaning specialist. Will the vendor be required to pay for all such vent cleaning?

Yes, The state inspector requires the vents to be cleaned twice a year which is the normal process and the expense will be incurred by the vendor.

Attachment H: List of Locations, Belk Hall accommodates 7 washers and 7 dryers, and based on the total sum being correct, we believe the 6 dryers and 6 washers listed for Belk Hall should be 7 washers and 7 dryers. Could the University please confirm?

Yes, the correct number is 7 washers and 7 dryers.
