About this file

This addendum to Bid No. RFB-UC26-146C is a specification document issued by Ulster County for the Wawarsing Public Safety Radio Tower Site Project, prepared by Tectonic Engineering Consultants. The addendum details requirements for furnishing and installing a complete interior overhead cable ladder rack and cable tray system within a prefabricated telecommunications equipment shelter. The work scope includes cable rack system fabrication and installation, coordination with shelter design and equipment layout, grounding and bonding of the ladder rack system, and cable management accessories and fittings. The system must support routing of RF feeders, hybrid/power cabling, and fiber optic cabling while accommodating a minimum of four equipment cabinets with provisions for future expansion. The cable rack system components shall include straight ladder sections, tees and intersections, splice hardware, trapeze supports, radius drop-out fittings, end caps, and bonding jumpers. Installation specifications require the ladder rack to be constructed from aluminum or corrosion-resistant equivalent material with minimum 12-inch width and 50 lb/ft distributed load capacity, with support spacing not to exceed 5 feet or per manufacturer requirements.

The system shall be installed as part of the prefabricated shelter assembly at elevations of 8 feet 0 inches to 8 feet 6 inches above finished floor, maintaining minimum 12-inch clearance above cabinet tops and adequate separation from HVAC and ceiling systems. All cable rack sections must be bonded to maintain electrical continuity and connected to the Interior Master Ground Bar using minimum #6 AWG copper bonding conductors with listed lugs and connectors. Installation must comply with ANSI/TIA-569, NFPA 70 Article 392, NEMA VE-1, and NEMA VE-2 standards. The shelter manufacturer is responsible for furnishing and installing the complete cable rack system as part of the prefabricated shelter, while the contractor must coordinate with the manufacturer, verify compliance with specifications, and connect the system to the site grounding network. Submittals required prior to shelter fabrication include product data with manufacturer specifications and load ratings, and shop drawings showing cable rack layout, elevations, support details, and grounding provisions.
