About this file
This is an addendum to bid documents issued by Boston Public Schools Office of Facilities Management for the Radiator Cover Project at various Phase 4 school locations under IFB Event ID #EV00017970. Addendum No. #1, dated October 2, 2026, modifies the original bidding documents dated September 23, 2026, and must be acknowledged by all bidders on the bid form to avoid disqualification. The addendum provides critical clarifications and updates to the contract documents, including the addition of radiator width specifications for Bates School that were omitted from the original plans, covering ten radiators across multiple floors and rooms with widths ranging from 3 feet to 8 feet.
The addendum addresses five substantive questions and answers that clarify bidder requirements and project specifications. Key clarifications include: the DCAMM bidder certification requirement is for General Building Construction/Carpentry, not electrical work; the school will clear radiators of teacher and student items prior to installation; the unit price is calculated in linear feet rather than one-inch increments; and the unit price on the general bid form covers both fabrication and installation of the radiator covers. These clarifications ensure all bidders submit proposals based on consistent understanding of the project scope and requirements, with the updated specifications forming an integral part of the contract documents that all prospective bidders must acknowledge upon submission.

2. Spec 00 11 00 pg2 states DCAMM bidder certified in “electrical”. We assume this is in error. Please confirm.
Answer: That is correct, it should have read “DCAMM bidder certified in General Building Construction/Carpentry”
3. Since the work is being done during the school year, we (from experience) expect radiators will be covered in teacher and student items. Can we assume these items to be cleared by the school in order for us to install and paint the new covers we will be installing?
Answer: Yes, the radiators will be cleared by the school.
4. On the form of general bid the unit price states 1”(or one inch) radiator cover installation.
The unit price is then called out as LF (lineal foot) Can you clarify the unit price?
Answer: The unit price is linear foot.
5. Please confirm the unit price on the general bid form is for Fabrication and installation. The description only describes installation (“ 1” Radiator Cover Installation ”).
Answer: The unit price on the general bid form is for fabrication and installation.
