About this file

This document is a detailed specification for FME (Flame Resistant Environmentally Protective) Coveralls, outlining precise manufacturing requirements for a military procurement. The coveralls are to be a one-piece medium green garment constructed from a 65% polyester and 35% cotton blend, weighing 5.5 to 8 ounces, with specific design features including a full 4-1/2 inch collar, a single left chest pocket, Velcro fasteners at critical points, and an elastic foot stirrup. Size ranges from Medium to XXXL, with precise chest, leg inseam, and sleeve inseam measurements and tolerances specified, ensuring consistent product quality.

The specification mandates high-quality workmanship, requiring coveralls to be free of loose materials, preshrunk, and labeled with the manufacturer's name and identifying number. Each garment must meet strict quality control standards, with the contractor required to submit a certificate of compliance for special instructions with each shipment. This specification appears to support a small business set-aside solicitation by the Defense Logistics Agency Maritime Puget Sound for coveralls to be delivered to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, with the procurement following commercial and simplified acquisition procedures.
