| Market Research: The items requested fall within the scope of the CHESS ITES-3H contract. Per AFARS 5139, all in scope items must be procured through the CHESS contract vehicle unless a statement of non-availability and ITAS waiver exist for the product or services. A review of CHESS ITES-3H indicates that more than one authorized CHESS vendor should be capable of satisfying this brand name support requirement. Due to the estimated value of the contract, an effort to promote competition and to meet the requirements of AFARS 5139.101, this requirement will be solicited through CHESS to multiple vendors. |

| Description of action: Purchasing of Oracle Database Standard Edition 2, with one-year of support. The database software will be installed on a server with one socket. For over 20 years, a supported Oracle database was provided by the ARNG G6. The MN-ARNG uses this database to enhance the readiness of the MN-ARNG. Due to the consolidation of software applications to the enterprise, the ARNG G6 will no longer pay for the support of Oracle within the MN-ARNG. The current support expires 31 July 2021. |
