About this file

This is a Statement of Work for animal husbandry and behavioral testing services for a NASA Human Research Program research project. The work involves housing and behavioral testing of one-year-old mice that have previously experienced simulated spaceflight at an accredited Animal Facility. The contractor must provide materials including caging, food, water, bedding, and enrichment for mice; animal husbandry services including cage changes, cage cleaning, room cleaning, and daily health checks; veterinary care services; and data collection from a battery of behavioral tests including SHIRPA phenotype assessment, Sociability and Social Memory, Force Plate Actimetry, Grip Strength, Elevated Zero Maze, Balance Beam, and Barnes Maze tests.

The project requires housing approximately 109 cages of mice (176 mice total) for up to four months, with the performance period spanning February 10 through May 31, 2026. Funds will be delivered in a phased manner based on actual costs, with two installments: one for behavioral testing and one for animal housing costs covering four months. All scientific and logistics requirements must be met as acceptance criteria. The total cost of animal housing and behavioral testing must not exceed the contracted price. Delivery of funds is requested to begin as soon as reasonably achievable.
