Amendment A00001 – SF 30, Block 14 (Cont’d)
The purpose of this amendment is as follows:
1. Four questions have been received and answered in response to this solicitation:
QUESTION ANSWER
Will new exterior ductwork require insulation? Yes. Provide R8 ductwork insulation which meets
SMACNA requirements. (See revised Section C)
The White Swan dental clinic does not have 3-phase power and 6-Ton single phase HVAC units are unavailable. What should be assumed for bidding purposes?
Assume a 5-Ton single phase unit for bidding. This assumption is based on a 1,760 CFM design and 30° temperature difference. The proposed unit must meet the equipment characteristics listed in Section C.
I’m having trouble locating the site. Can you provide the GPS coordinates?
Yes. GPS Coordinates: 46°22'46.3"N 120°44'04.3"W.
See also Section J, Attachment J01-E: Sitemap for an additional reference.
The current POP of 70 days from award does not allow enough time for preconstruction activities.
Would the Government consider an extension or a POP based on an NTP date rather than from award?
The contract POP is revised to 45 days from date of the
Notice-to-Proceed (NTP). See revised Section B, paragraph B.2.4 and revised Section F.
2. Section B, paragraph B.2.4 has been revised. See the changes marked in red text within the conformed copy of the solicitation below.
3. Section C has been revised. See the changes marked in red text within the conformed copy of the solicitation below.

SECTION C. STATEMENT OF WORK
I. OVERVIEW
A. SITE LOCATIONS
Indian Health Service, White Swan Dental Clinic
62 Birdsong Lane, White Swan, WA 98952
GPS Coordinates: 46°22'46.3"N 120°44'04.3"W
(See Section J, Attachment J01-E: Sitemap)
B. PROBLEM STATEMENT
The White Swan Dental Clinic is a 1,775 SF modular building. Two Lennox 15CHPXA-36-230-2A residential
HVAC units provide heating, ventilation, and air conditioning for this space. A recent inspection discovered that these units do not provide any fresh-air ventilation required by code. Additionally, the dual unit configuration does not provide a practical space conditioning strategy, as contrary heating and cooling conditions may occur simultaneously.
C. OBJECTIVE
This project will replace the two existing Lennox Heat Pumps with a single right-sized, code compliant unit.
Proposal pricing shall be based on current equipment sizing a single phase 5-Ton unit. It will also install new ventilation grills to allow for air balancing.
After installing new HVAC equipment, this project will conduct a Test, Adjustment, and Balance (TAB) project to ensure all spaces receiving code-compliant ventilation and temperature standards are met.
D. WORK SUMMARY
1. Heat-loss analysis and calculations for HVAC sizing.
2. Hazard Inspection.
3. Replace two existing units with a single unit.
4. Replace ventilation grills for balancing.
5. Complete startup on the new system to assure it is operating correctly.
