Questions & Answers

Request for Clarifications – Q&A, dated 16 January 18

1. Price list errors. Attachment 1 appears to have 2 extra work items. The specifications indicate 112 Work Items but the price list indicates 114 Work Items. The error appears to be in the price list as detailed below. Removal of these two items in the price list would appear to reconcile the 112 Work Items matching to the specifications.

a. “Propulsion Shaft Seals, Mechanical & Inflatable, Inspect and Clean” is listed twice in error. Both D-037 and D-038 in the price list. Specifications indicates this belongs with Work Item 37.

b. “Propellers, Clean and Inspect” is listed in the price list as D-040. The specifications does not have this item at all.

USCG ANSWER: A revised Attachment 1 – Item Price List is attached to the amendment. D- 037 is for shaft seal and D-038 is for shaft bearing external. D-040 is for propeller minor repair

2. Work Item 19. In both the specifications and the price list, the “selector” for plate size indicates either 1/2" or 5/16” thickness. Is this intended to be either of these plate sizes?

USCG ANSWER: Yes, either of these sizes are acceptable.

3. Work Item 20. In both the specifications and the price list, the “selector” for plate size indicates either 1/2" or 5/16” thickness. Is this intended to be either of these plate sizes?

USCG ANSWER: Yes, either of these sizes are acceptable.

4. Work Item 105 “Sea Chest Strainers, Renew”. The work item has significant description for valve and waster pieces removal for inspection and overhaul (including requirement for gasket and hardware renewal and valve pressure testing) but the table referenced only list a strainer plate to be replaced. Is the table list for valves to overhaul and valves to renew missing?

USCG ANSWER: This work is for sea strainers to be renewed along with gaskets and hardware.
