Question
Answer

In order to properly quote the MTU/DDE parts, we need to know how you want each part packaged. In attachment 8 (attached), there are six totally different packaging methods. How do you want the parts packaged?

Please see Attachment 10_USCG SFLC Packaging Guidelines that contains examples of different sized parts and instructions.

CLINS 0004 and 0025 are obsolete with no replacement from MTU or Detroit Diesel.

CLINS 0034

CLINS 0050

CLINS 0073

CLINS 0173

CLINS 0204

Can you please double check the part numbers? MTU or Detroit isn’t finding anything under those numbers.

CLIN 0004 will stay in Spreadsheet. MTU has confirmed they will the new Engine Block number is 23565119 and may have pricing in next few days. DO NOT quote this part.

CLIN 0025 Is not a valid part number; deleted.

CLIN 0034 Number corrected to 23525420

CLIN 0050 Duplicate part; deleted

CLIN 0073 Unable to find valid part number; deleted

On page 18 in your ID/IQ solicitation for MTU and Daimler parts there is a Liquidated Damages Clause of $21.67 per calendar day of delay. Since, (vendor) is not the OEM, we must take exception to this clause. Would this be allowed?

The clause shall remain in the solicitation and the contract once issued.

Each vendor quote should include a worst case scenario against the delivery schedule for parts so we can accurately gage vendor delivery times and manage our customer’s expectations. Liquidated damages clause gives us an option for us to utilize and does not guarantee we will use it if the vendor has proposed a reasonable delivery schedule for parts.

Repeat Question: You need to get with MTU on the blocks.... they are obsolete from MTU and obsolete from Detroit Diesel, this will be a problem for your overhauls and spare parts...

CLIN 0004 will stay in Spreadsheet, but DO NOT quote price at this time. MTU has confirmed they will re-introduce this Engine Block and after award schedule will be revised.
