Questions Answers
1 In reference to the Soil Erosion Control, Filter Bag. Is it a filter bag or a filter sock? Where is the location of these items to be placed? I can’t find any information in the specifications or on the drawings.
Dewatering is the responsibility of the contractor. The filter bag is for filtering that water prior to it returning to the stream. Placement and maintenance are the responsibility of the contractor. Other erosion and sediment control measures are to be used if needed. Follow manufacturers recommendations.
2 Would it be acceptable to coffer dam one pier at a time in lieu of coffer dam both piers individually at the same time?
The contractor will need to ensure that safe passage under the bridge for non-motorized recreational use is maintained; otherwise, there are no stipulations regarding the use of the coffer dams.
