04/03/20– FP-14
108.01 Commencement, Prosecution, and Completion of Work. Add the following:
Furnish at least a 48-hour advanced notice before changing the current work schedule. Work schedule changes that include additional shifts require a 14-day advanced notice.
Perform work under this contract according to the following.
(a) Limit work as provided for in Sections 104, 105, 107, 156, and 157.
(b) Do not perform work within the following durations.
(1) Between 6:00 p.m. Friday and 6:00 a.m. the following Tuesday of the Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.
(2) Between 6:00 p.m. July 2, and 6:00 a.m. July 6.
(3) On any holiday, or between 6:00 p.m. Friday and 6:00 a.m. the following Monday, unless approved by the CO.
(c) Work at box culvert 293+61 cannot be performed until an executed utility agreement from the Century Link (Lumen) is received (see Subsection 107.02), which is anticipated to occur before the Notice to Proceed date. Do not perform work associated with the box culvert at 293+61 until receiving written approval from the CO. Do not perform work associated with the box culvert at 374+92 until receiving written approval from the CO. Associated work includes ordering any materials associated with the work. Notice to Proceed for the Project does not constitute approval for work on the culvert culverts at 293+61. and 374+92.
108.01A Labor. (Added Subsection).
Follow the requirements of FAR Clause 52.222-6 Construction Wage Rate Requirements.
Adjacent or virtually adjacent work sites, as used in FAR Clause 52.222-6, are defined to be work sites within ½ mile of the project. Application of Construction Wage Rate Requirements (Davis- Bacon Act) for work sites beyond ½ mile of the project will be determined by the CO.
Pay rates and zone pay used in the General Wage Decision are based on the “Center of the job.”
The “Center of the job” is:
(a) The geographic center of the project when construction sites are contiguous; or,
(b) The geographic center of the project when construction sites are noncontiguous and separated by no more than 1-mile from edge to edge.
Construction sites that are noncontiguous and separated by greater than 1-mile will each have a separate “Center of the job” for the purposes of determining pay rates and zone pay.

Project: MT DOT 14203(1), Maiden Road
At the preconstruction conference, submit a cost breakdown of the work included in the lump sum item for the purpose of making progress payments.
(a) Government set reference lines and points. The Government has set horizontal and vertical control points for the project. The location and identity of each control point are shown on the plans.
The CO will also identify the beginning of the project.
Before beginning construction, notify the CO of any missing control points or stakes. The Government will reestablish control points and stakes missing before the beginning of construction.
(b) Government furnished information. The Government will furnish the design data described below for 293+20 to 294+30, 374+00 to 375+50, 901+55 to 902+93, and 801+05 to 802+77:

(4) Superelevation report in Portable Document Format (.pdf);
(5) Construction staking notes containing points at centerline, shoulders, and theoretical slope stake catch in Portable Document Format (.pdf);
(6) X, Y, Z coordinates of subgrade and base layer(s) points at centerline and shoulders, in Portable Document Format (.pdf);
(7) Proposed finished surface in LandXML (.xml) format; and,
(8) Proposed 3D breaklines in Drawing Exchange Format (.dxf).
Perform additional conversions and calculations as necessary for convenient use of Government-furnished data. The Contractor is responsible for the accuracy of all information converted from the Government-furnished data. Provide immediate notification of apparent errors in the furnished data.

Project: MT DOT 14203(1), Maiden Road
Multiple culverts may be used in place of one large culvert if they have the equivalent capacity of the larger one. For crossings utilizing multiple culverts, the minimum-size individual culvert that may be used is 60-inches diameter.
Install approved scour and erosion protection at culvert inlets and outlet.
Remove temporary culverts when they are no longer required.
(e) Diversion Installation. Divert stream flow as needed for completing existing culvert removal, riprap placement, and new culvert installation. Maintain structures and systems as needed for ensuring design efficiency.
Minimum design discharges and velocities for flow diversion and barrier systems is as follows:
Warm Spring Creek 293+61
Warm Spring Creek 374+92
Discharge 260 cfs 157 cfs Velocity 7.8 ft/sec 6.7 ft/sec
Flow diversion barriers must have a minimum elevation of 2 foot above what is needed for conveying the design discharge. Do not span the stream channel and floodplain completely.
Isolate one bank first for completing riprap installation at that bank. Finish riprap installation and final grading before removing flow diversion at that bank and starting second bank. Isolate second bank for completing riprap installation of that bank. Maintain at least half-width channel flow always. Minimize disturbance of channel bed as much as possible. Flow diversion barriers must be stable using the above listed velocities for parallel flow. Leakage through and under the barrier must be small enough to allow for proposed work.
Do not dewater downstream channels during dewatering. Maintain a downstream water flow rate of at least 90 percent of the upstream water flow rate.
Use non-erosive materials for diversions and barriers. Diversion sandbags can be filled with material mined from the floodplain as long as such material is replaced at end of project. Small amounts of in-stream material can be moved to help seal and secure diversion structures.
(f) Dewatering. Dewater according to Subsection 208.07.
(g) Operation. Operate temporary water management as follows:
(1) Maintain and control water flow downstream of the isolated work area for the duration of the diversion to prevent downstream de-watering.
(2) Regularly inspect and clean coffer dams, culverts, or water-proof lined diversion ditches of excess debris or sediment accumulation.
(h) Re-watering and removal. Pre-wash reconstructed channel segments into a channel reach equipped with sediment capture devices prior to reintroducing stream to channel.
