Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell (ENMU-Roswell) requires the acquisition of a WorldViz PRISM Triple-Wall Immersive Simulation System to support experiential learning, workforce development, and scenario-based instruction across multiple academic and technical education programs.
The Agency requires a complete, turnkey immersive simulation system that includes proprietary hardware, software, licensing, installation, system integration, commissioning, operational training, and ongoing manufacturer support. The requested system must function as a single integrated platform capable of providing interactive room-scale simulation using synchronized projection, wall-touch technology, integrated audio, lighting controls, and content authoring capabilities.
The WorldViz PRISM Triple-Wall Immersive Simulation System is proprietary to WorldViz.
The PRISM software platform, Image Generator, Wall-Touch System, server licensing, and integrated hardware architecture are developed, owned, and supported exclusively by WorldViz.
Only WorldViz can provide the proprietary software licenses, manufacturer-authorized installation, commissioning, operational training, warranty, and technical support required for the complete system.
Because the Agency requires the complete proprietary PRISM platform and its integrated functionality, no other manufacturer or vendor can provide an equivalent system that meets the Agency's operational and instructional requirements. Therefore, WorldViz is the only responsible source capable of providing the required equipment, proprietary software, licensing, installation, and manufacturer support necessary to fulfill the Agency's intended purpose.
VI. Provide a detailed explanation of the criteria developed and specified by the agency as necessary to perform and/or fulfill the contract and upon which the state agency reviewed available sources. (Do not use “technical jargon;” use plain English. Do not tailor the criteria simply to exclude other contractors if it is not rationally related to the purpose of the contract.)
ENMU-Roswell developed the following minimum criteria based on its educational and workforce training needs. The system must:
• Provide a complete, turnkey immersive simulation environment.
• Include all hardware, software, licensing, installation, and training necessary for full operation.
• Support interactive, scenario-based instruction across multiple academic and workforce programs.
• Allow faculty to create and manage instructional content for future use.
• Include manufacturer-supported installation, warranty, technical support, and software updates.
• Be capable of long-term use and expansion without replacing the entire system.
These criteria were established to meet the Agency's instructional objectives and ensure the acquisition of a fully integrated immersive learning system. The criteria were based on the Agency's operational needs and were not developed to exclude other vendors.
VII. Provide a detailed, sufficient explanation of the reasons, qualifications, proprietary rights or unique capabilities of the prospective contractor that makes their company the only source capable of providing the required professional service, general service, construction or item(s) of tangible personal property. (Please do not state the source is the “best” source or the “least costly” source. Those factors do not justify a “sole source.”)
The Agency has determined that WorldViz is the only source capable of providing the required PRISM Triple-Wall Immersive Simulation System because the system is proprietary to WorldViz. The PRISM software platform, Image Generator, Wall-Touch System, server licensing, and integrated hardware are developed, owned, and supported exclusively by WorldViz.
Only WorldViz can provide the proprietary software licenses, manufacturer-authorized installation, system commissioning, operational training, warranty, and technical support necessary for the complete PRISM system. These proprietary components are designed to operate as a single integrated platform and are not available from other manufacturers or vendors.
Because the Agency requires the complete proprietary PRISM Triple-Wall Immersive Simulation System, no other source can provide an equivalent system with the required proprietary technology, licensing, installation, and manufacturer support.
VIII. Provide a detailed, sufficient explanation of how the professional service, general service, construction or item(s) of tangible personal property is/are unique and how this uniqueness is substantially related to the intended purpose of the contract.
The WorldViz PRISM Triple-Wall Immersive Simulation System is a proprietary, turnkey immersive learning platform that combines interactive projection, wall-touch technology, integrated audio, lighting controls, simulation software, and content authoring tools into a single operational system. These components are designed to function together and are not commercially available as an integrated system from another manufacturer.
This uniqueness is substantially related to the purpose of the contract because ENMU-Roswell requires a complete immersive simulation environment to support experiential learning, workforce development, and scenario-based instruction across multiple academic programs. The integrated design allows faculty to develop, manage, and deliver realistic training scenarios using a single platform that is fully supported by the manufacturer. Separate hardware or software products would not provide the same integrated functionality or meet the Agency's instructional requirements.
IX. Provide a narrative description of the agency’s due diligence in determining the basis for the procurement, including procedures used by the agency to conduct a review of available sources such as researching trade publications, industry newsletters and the internet;;
contacting similar service providers; and reviewing the State Purchasing Divisions’ Statewide Price Agreements. Include a list of businesses contacted (do not state that no other businesses were contacted), date of contact, method of contact (telephone, mail, e-mail, other), and documentation demonstrating an explanation of why those businesses could not or would not, under any circumstances, perform the contract; or an explanation of why the agency has determined that no businesses other than the prospective contractor can perform the contract.
ENMU-Roswell conducted market research to determine whether another source could provide an immersive simulation system meeting the Agency's minimum requirements. The Agency reviewed manufacturer websites, product literature, industry resources, and the New Mexico State Purchasing Division's Statewide Price Agreements for comparable systems.
The following businesses were reviewed:
Business Date Method Results
WorldViz June
Manufacturer website, email, and product information
Provides the proprietary PRISM Triple-Wall Immersive Simulation System required by the Agency.
Igloo Vision June 2026 Internet research
Provides immersive display environments but does not offer the proprietary PRISM software platform, wall-touch technology, or integrated authoring and server licensing required by the Agency.
Mechdyne Corporation
June 2026 Internet research
Provides visualization systems but does not offer the proprietary PRISM integrated simulation platform required by the Agency.
Christie Digital
June 2026 Internet research

Sole Source Justification Letter
PRISM Immersive Simulation Room
June 24, 2026
To Whom It May Concern:
WorldViz, Inc. hereby confirms that it is the sole developer, manufacturer, and provider of the PRISM
Immersive Simulation Room, a proprietary projection-based immersive environment purpose-built for scenario-based training and experiential learning. WorldViz does not authorize any third-party reseller, integrator, or vendor to manufacture, supply, or support an equivalent system.
PRISM is a fully integrated immersive training room that surrounds participants with high-resolution projected imagery and synchronized sensory cues to recreate realistic operational environments. Unlike commodity audiovisual installations or general-purpose virtual reality hardware, PRISM is engineered specifically for instructor-led, scenario-driven training in which participants move, observe, and interact within a life-sized simulated space. The system is delivered as a unified solution encompassing proprietary software, projection and tracking hardware, immersive room design, installation, calibration, and operator training.
PRISM Capabilities
The PRISM Immersive Simulation Room provides a distinct set of capabilities that are available exclusively from WorldViz:
• Deployment of 360° imagery and video to recreate realistic, fully immersive training scenarios.
• Instructor-controlled simulation management through an intuitive tablet interface featuring drag-and-drop scenario authoring and real-time scenario control.
• Participant interaction via wall-touch — taps and swipes — that trigger embedded, branching events within a scenario.
• Integration of synchronized audio, dynamic lighting effects, and optional sensory cues to heighten realism and training fidelity.
• Built on WorldViz’s proprietary Vizard software engine, providing real-time rendering, device integration, and simulation control unavailable from any other vendor.
PRISM is a tightly integrated, proprietary technology stack developed, manufactured, and supported exclusively by WorldViz. No other vendor can provide an equivalent system offering the same hardware-software integration, immersive functionality, or operational support. It is important to note that PRISM is a separate and distinct product from WorldViz’s VizMove Projection VR System; while both employ projection technology, PRISM is purpose-built as a turnkey immersive training room with instructor-driven, scenario-based workflows, and it cannot be replicated by assembling components or solutions from other vendors.
Sole Source Justification – Key Points
• Uniqueness of Product: PRISM is purpose-built for immersive, scenario-based simulation and training; it is not a commodity AV product or a configuration of off-the-shelf components.
• Proprietary Technology: The PRISM system framework and its underlying Vizard software engine are proprietary and protected by multiple U.S. patents (9110503, 9541634, 9692990, 9804257, 10495726, 9990689, 10269089, 10095928, 10452916, 10242501, 10922890).
• Exclusive Manufacturing & Licensing: No third-party reseller or vendor is authorized to produce, distribute, or support the PRISM Immersive Simulation Room.
• Specialized Installation & Support: Complete installation, calibration, configuration, and operator training require proprietary tools and methodologies developed by WorldViz engineers.
• Integrated System Design: Software, hardware, immersive room environment, and support services are fully integrated; partial solutions from other vendors cannot replicate PRISM’s functionality.
• Critical for Advanced Training & Research: PRISM supports high-fidelity, scenario-based learning and experiential training not achievable with alternative systems.
Conclusion
Due to its proprietary nature, exclusive integration, patented technology, and specialized installation and support requirements, WorldViz is the only vendor capable of providing the PRISM Immersive
Simulation Room and its associated services. This procurement qualifies as a sole source acquisition under established public institution guidelines, including those of SUNY and the California community colleges, as no alternative vendor can supply an equivalent solution.
