About this file

This document is a Guard Booth Specifications document that establishes requirements for designing, manufacturing, and furnishing one fully assembled and portable guard booth. The booth must meet UL 752 Level 8 bullet resistant protection standards, designed to resist five shots from a 150-grain 7.62mm rifle at 2,750-3,025 ft/sec. The interior plan dimensions must be a minimum of 6'-0" wide by 8'-0" long with an 85" ceiling height. The exterior features UL 752 Level 8 bullet resistant armor plate steel painted Regal White, while the interior uses 16-gauge galvanized steel similarly painted. The roof employs all-steel construction with 16-gauge galvanized steel roof deck welded to internal steel framing, weather-sealed with three-part membrane coating, and insulated to R-19. The floor consists of 12-gauge galvanized steel plate covered with commercial black resilient textured interlocking tiles.

The booth must include a 3'-0" x 7'-0" personnel door with UL 752 Level 8 bullet resistant protection, continuous stainless steel hinges, mortise level lock, and hydraulic closer. All windows must meet UL 752 Level 8 standards with gray tinted laminated glass clad polycarbonate in steel frames with flush-mounted welded corners. Accessories include one 20" deep full-width shelf mounted at 34" above floor with storage drawer, and four 12" wide x 10" tall slide-type gunports with quick-release handles per wall. Electrical requirements mandate a three-wire, single-phase, 12-pole, 125-amp load center at 120/240 volts; interior LED lighting; emergency backup light; four exterior flood lights; duplex outlets; and an A/C unit with 12,000 BTU cooling and 10,600 BTU heating. All electrical equipment must be UL Solutions approved. The manufacturer must have a minimum five-year continuous record manufacturing similar guard booths and provide final engineered drawings with PSNS C/106 and C/1121 concurrence upon award. The specification references the 2021 International Building Code, 2022 AISC structural steel standards, 2025 AWS welding standards, and 2023 National Electrical Code.
