About this file
This document is a Material Ordering Data sheet for welding electrodes and related consumables, specifically for MIL-100S-1 type electrodes in 60 LB coil form with 3/32" diameter size. The specification is based on NAVSEA Technical Publication T9074-BC-GIB-010/0200, which establishes requirements for filler materials used in flux-cored welding electrodes, bare welding electrodes, and covered welding electrodes for low-alloy steel applications.
Key technical requirements include: alloy testing after marking is mandatory with one sample per heat/lot for analysis; fully constrained weldments are required with no alternative restraint methods permitted; alloy identity testing shall use methods specified in AWS A5.01M/A5.01(2019) R2024; all check tolerances for mechanical properties and chemical composition must be applied during receipt inspection; and electrodes must be obtained from the same manufacturer providing the flux. Packaging specifications require 60 LB spools in basket rim configuration per AWS A5.02/A5.02M:2025, with materials maintained for stability during handling and shipment without requiring additional special packaging. Certificate of compliance for asbestos-free electrodes is not required, and plastic spool burning compliance per ASTM D 635 is not required. All unit, intermediate, and shipping containers must be marked according to MIL-STD-129 with reference to DLA Procurement Note C20. Filler wire chemical analysis must fulfill requirements of T9074-AD-GIB-010/1688 REV 1 Paragraph 8.7.1.3.
