Amendment 02 when it is to repair a specific damaged area of paint. Repainting to correct for normal wear and tear to painted surfaces over time (Cyclic Painting) is not required. Re-striping of parking areas, driveways, roads, and vehicle inspection areas is required where striping is damaged or worn in a specific location, but not for general wear and tear of a large area over time. Repairs or replacement to pavement, walkways, and facades are required where a specific location is damaged but not where an extensive area (defined as over 20% of the type of replacement) is degraded. Painting in mechanical areas needed for OSHA compliance, consistent equipment appearance, or other safety reasons is required.
C.37.5. Repair and Replacement Cost Responsibilities
The Contractor shall accomplish all architectural and structural repairs or replacements costing up to a $2,500.00 dollar limit (per item, per instance, per location); however this does not apply to pavement, walkways, or facades where deterioration is extensive (i.e. over 20% of the type of area).
The Contractor shall accomplish repairs or replacements within 3 calendar days, or within a time period scheduled and approved by the COR. The
Contractor shall notify the COR 48 hours in advance of any work that would be disruptive to building occupants or normal building operations, and shall gain verbal approval via phone from the COR, or his designee, on any repair above $2,500.00. The COR will follow FAR regulations allowing him/her the right to furnish or contract open market for any or all parts, materials, and/or labor for repairs or replacements. The Mechanical
Maintenance Contractor is responsible for the amount up to $2,500.00 regardless of whether the COR contracts with the mechanical maintenance
Contractor or goes open market.
Architectural Repairs and Replacements are intended to maintain the integrity of the building envelope (preventing water leaks through proactively addressing cracks, minor tuck pointing failures, reattaching loose roof flashing, fixing windows cracked by weather or seal failures, water damaged ceiling tile, etc.), and to address safety hazards (such as tripping concerns or hazards of falling materials). It is not to address cosmetic issues or to perform cyclic maintenance, such as minute cracks in terrazzo floors, scaling of concrete sidewalks, repainting for the purpose of refreshing an area's look, etc.
C.37.6. Interior and Exterior Signage and Directories
The Contractor must maintain and update building directories. The signs include all exterior, OSH, stairwell, directory and public corridor signs.
The Contractor must repair damaged interior or exterior signage in accordance with the repairs provisions in this document. Other changes to interior or exterior signage may be ordered from the Contractor as reimbursable items under the additional services provisions in this document.

UNTITLED 2012. Kent Bloomer b. 1935. Artwork is made of fiberglass panels and is a “sculpture-frieze” as an ornament to the architecture of the courthouse. It is composed as a procession of books chained together with rings and waves, and is meant to honor the written words of the law. The installation also included a building dedication panel and poignant words from the Declaration of Independence, which were applied in paint with a custom made stencil.

The Nancy Hunter chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) created the plaque that was previously displayed at the old federal building and courthouse.
GREEN BUILDING DISPLAY 2008. The display outlines the construction of the Rush Hudson Limbaugh Sr. U.S. Courthouse. It includes historical information concerning the site, building construction, and the green building design incorporated into the courthouse.
C.37.8. Miscellaneous Labor Work
C.37.8.A. General. The Contractor shall provide the labor for the accomplishment of miscellaneous jobs requested by the COR, which will consist of, but not be limited to: hanging pictures, maps and bulletin boards; trimming door bases; repairing/replacing windows; updating directories; moving furniture, ceiling and floor systems, stairways and railings; patching walls; painting; installing parts and equipment; removing functionally or economically obsolete equipment; escort assistance, etc. Miscellaneous work shall be accomplished in the same time frame as routine service calls, unless otherwise directed by the COR. It uses standard sprinklers that activate in response to heat at a prescribed temperature level. Dry-Pipe Sprinkler System - In the dry-pipe system, automatic sprinklers attached to pipes containing compressed air. Once a sprinkler is triggered, the compressed air releases, allowing water to flow into the pipes through the dry-pipe valve and out the opened sprinkler. The system is installed where sprinklers are located in areas subject to temperatures below 4.4°C (40°F). However, the dry-pipe valve for the system must be located in a heated area. For the courthouse, one dry-pipe system is located on the basement level which serves the parking garage and sally port, and one is located on level one which serves the loading dock. The sprinkler manufacturers are Viking Microfast; Microfast HP Model M QR Pendent Sprinkler; and Viking Horizon Mirage
