About this file
This document contains a justification for other than full and open competition and a notice of a federal contract opportunity for replacing patient lift systems at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. The justification cites that MedCare is the only brand of patient lift that can meet the agency's needs, as the entire facility currently utilizes MedCare systems. Replacing them with another manufacturer's lifts would significantly increase costs and require extra staff training. The contract opportunity will be a single award firm-fixed-price design-build contract solicited using a Request for Proposal and set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. The project scope involves replacing 49 ceiling lifts in the SCI/D building and installing 15 additional lifts in the ED building. The performance period is approximately 275 days and the estimated value is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Questions must be submitted by November 30th to the email address provided.
