1. 8/30/2019 Does the owner wish to add the cost of bringing a manufactures representative per 071816 1.4 A. 3. And 4. For this limited installation.

VA to have final say but this is standard verbiage that the VA has required in the past.

2. 8/30/2019 Per 071816 1.4 B. 2., Does the owner wish to add the cost for the manufactures rep to perform these tests, or will quantity verification be adequate?

4. 8/30/2019 Per 071816 1.4 C., Does this only apply to 071816 Traffic coated areas or is this to apply to all elevated slabs?

This should apply to all slabs where waterproofing is applied to prevent water from leaking to areas below.

5. 8/30/2019 Per 071816 1.5 A. 1-4.

Q 1A Since the product data sheets and installation guide answer all the items in A. 1. And 2., will the product data sheets and installation guide be sufficient to satisfy these criteria?

Q 1B Does the owner wish to add the cost of shop drawing to this small scope even though the product data sheets and installation guide provide the equivalent information with the exception of the limits shown on AP 102?

Q 1C Most traffic coating come in three standard colors, light Grey, Dark Grey and Tan, and all VAs to date have chosen light Grey as it is the closest to concrete color. Does the owner whish to stipulate light grey at this time per part 2 2.1 B. of this specification?

Q1A – Yes Q1B – VA to have final say, but shop drawings are typically required by VA.

Q1C – VA to have final say.

6. 8/30/2019 Per 071816 Will owner acknowledge that this is not a Recoat system installation and therefore verbiage relating to “recoat” is not applicable for this project.

Standard VA spec verbiage.

Would cover if a recoat ended up being necessary during the project.

7. 8/30/2019 071813 is a pedestrian traffic coating system, Unable to locate this product on Drawing in the structure, where is this?

Spec section is not necessary and may be deleted.

8. 8/30/2019 Crash wall/toping slab sections do not show cove sealant.

Are these areas typically required to have cove sealants where walking surfaces meet walls?

See details on sheet AP300.

9. 8/30/2019 Drawing AP 300 Detail 11 the protection board part of the detail seems to be on the incorrect side, shouldn’t it be on the soil side?

Where below grade, protection Board should be on flush side Of column and wall.

10. 8/30/2019 Sheet E-501 on the Elevator Connection Schematic Detail Keynotes 2 and 4 make reference to a Fire Alarm System.

There are no Fire Alarm Drawings nor is there a specification section specific to a Fire Alarm System. Please confirm the building does not require a Fire Alarm System. If it does, please provide drawings and a specification section.

Per Code Analysis section L, on sheet GI002, fire alarm system is not required for parking structure.

11. 8/30/2019 I will need to insulate the storm piping in this garage. The 22 14 00 Facility Storm Drainage Spec refers me to Section 22 07 11 Plumbing Insulation. This Spec does not exist. I will need to know what type of insulation will be required on the storm piping.

Insulation is required for storm piping. Refer to spec section 22 07 11 per addendum.

12. 8/30/2019 We will need to insulate the storm piping in this garage. The 22 14 00 Facility Storm Drainage Spec refers me to Section 22 07 11 Plumbing Insulation. This Spec does not exist. Please provide a copy of this specification.

Insulation is required for storm piping. Refer to spec section 22 07 11 per addendum.

13. 8/29/2019 Specification Section 071352 – Modified Bituminous Sheet Waterproofing: Please provide clarification as to where this is to be provided. We have assumed that the elevator pit requires this treatment, but are there any other areas?

14. 8/29/2019 Specification Section 071813 – Pedestrian Traffic Coatings: Please provide clarification as to where this is to be provided. The plans and specifications are not clear as to the extent of this products application.

15. 8/29/2019 Specification Section 071816 – Traffic Coatings: Please provide clarification as to where this is to be provided. The plans and specifications are not clear as to the extent of this products application. Does this occur only at the shaded area indicated on sheet AP102?

Yes, please provide where Indicated by shade on AP102 And by general note ‘N’ on AP sheets.

16. 8/29/2019 Specification Section 071916 – Silane Water Repellents: Please provide clarification as to where this is to be provided. The plans and specifications are not clear as to the extent of this products application.

Per general note ‘O’ on AP sheets, concrete sealer shall be applied to all slab surfaces exposed to the sky. This would be the top floor including the ramp until covered by the floor above.

17. 8/29/2019 Bike Racks: Do you have a specification for these items that are indicated on Sheet AS101?

Provide Cycle Stall Basic by American Bicycle Security Co.

Ventura, CA or equivalent.

18. 8/29/2019 Door Schedule and Finish Schedule:

Discrepancy in Elevator Door/Frame materials: Paint vs Stainless Steel (Specification Section 090600) No Flooring, Base or Ceiling indicated Please clarify location of automatic operators - Specification Section 087113.

Elevator doors and frame are stainless steel.

Refer to Item number 43, Technical Responses August 22, 2019.
