About this file

This modification to a federal solicitation provides additional information for offerors responding to solicitation number 36C77023Q0179 to integrate an automated capping system into an existing pharmaceutical conveyance system. The modification extends the response date from March 13th to March 17th 2023, provides a site visit opportunity on March 14th, and includes pictures and dimensions of packaging used and drawings of the capping machine. It also addresses questions from potential offerors about layout drawings, reject systems, and electrical requirements. The scope of work requires connecting and integrating a TeDelta rotary capping machine into the conveyance system to meet specified performance requirements, including a minimum capping rate of 2,000 bottles per hour and rejection of incorrectly capped bottles. The period of performance will be determined by the best delivery date.

A.1 QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

1. Please advise if there is a layout drawing available for this capper area (5’widthx13’ 10” length)

0. Yes.

1. Also please advise if layout is available that show the perpendicular existing conveyors that need to be interfaced with before and after the new conveyors.

1. Yes, Carren can make a drawing by Friday morning that includes the layout including the perpendicular and existing conveyors that need to be interfaced.

1. A reject system with reject conveyor is also mentioned. We do not provide inspection/rejection systems but we can provide the conveying associated with these systems. Further details and layout is requested.

2. If no inspection/rejection system can be included in the quote by any vendor, or by any subcontractor from the awarded vendor then it is acceptable that the vendor provides the conveying associated with these systems. In that case, the CMOP will have to try and find a vendor to provide the inspection/rejection system as an additional step after the TeDelta capper is integrated into the Baker’s conveyor system with the TeDelta’s conveyor system.

1. Please advise if you can provide puck drawing and/or dimensional details.

3. Yes, drawing sent with dimensional details. Please advise of any shortfalls.

1. Question: please advise if there will be an overall system integrator and if we would be supplying the conveying portion for this overall integration.

1.

5. No, we do not have an overall system integrator and the intent in the solicitation is for the vendor to work with a system integrator of their choosing or to provide a system integrator in their work solution (e.g. the awarded contractor may sub-contract a system integrator if one is not available within the contractor’s own business enterprise.

5. Yes, the vendor is expected to supply the conveying portion for this overall integration into the Baker’s existing conveyor system with the TeDelta’s conveyor system.
