Question 1

Q: The RFP states the Period of Performance is 60 Days. The SF1442 states the Period of Performance is 45 days.

A: 60 days

Q: Will the VA provide the actual design and engineering requirements, including the time allowed for A/E development of 35%, 65%, 95%, and 100% submittals (example only), including the VA review time in between each submittal for each expected phase of design submittals?

A: Design per the IBC, IPC, and VA requirements. This is a simple drawing and should be created quickly using VA as-builts. VA Project Management will work with designer to provide a quick turn-over.

A: May 14th 2020

Question 9

Q: When are plans available for this bid?

A:Plan was provided. Bring plan with you when you conduct the project walk.

Question 10

Q: Located between the building entry point and the point of connection to the existing 10” water main is a tree.

There is a sidewalk running parallel with the path of travel for the new water line. The sidewalk could be spared but the tree will sustain significant damage. Does the VA want to remove and replace the side walk and save the tree or save the sidewalk and damage the tree?

A:Trim the tree back without removal. Replace sidewalk if needed.

Question 11

Q: As no drawings were provided, will the VA confirm the location of the waterline at the point of connection?

Without this information an accurate proposal is difficult, will the VA furnish as built drawings of the existing site conditions and pipe basement route that the interior water line is supposed to run.

A:Yes, See plan provided.

Question 12

Q: Based upon previous work in the area, we believe the water main is about 14’ below grade, will the VA confirm the waterline depth is approx. 14’ below finish grade?

A:Waterline is approximately 14’ below grade.
