1. Are we responsible for taking guard rail off and handrail and putting them back on for York Coil in the stair well?

The existing guard rail is welded to the existing handrail for the stairs. VA staff is going to cut the handrail so that the guard rail can be removed without removing the handrail from the stairs. The guard rail can be unattached from the floor by removing the nuts attaching the plates to the floor. The contractor will need to remove/reinstall the guard rail if they want/need to do so.

2. When removing piping for insulation for York AHU Coil, do we need to replace with new piping or reuse the old piping?

As long as the existing pipe is not damaged by the contractor during removal and/or reinstallation, it can be reused. Per PWS section 2.b.4, the contractor should provide/replace any necessary screws, gaskets, couplings, etc. The York AHU coil appears to have threaded connections projecting outside the main AHU container and there is some surface rust on a threaded coupling and a threaded flange. If this is just surface rust that can be easily removed and the coupling/flange are fully functional, then they can be reused. If necessary, replace the coupling and/or flange.

3. Are we able to do one coil for York on one weekend and the other coil on Trane another weekend? Or do they need to be done same weekend?

The two coils do not need to be installed at the same time, day, and/or weekend. It may be logistically more appropriate to install them on different dates, including possibly different weekends.

4. Can we also get clarification regarding parking in the loading area. If working after hours are there any restrictions in parking in the loading area?

Only use loading docs as long as necessary to unload, then move truck to outer parking areas.

There are a few contractor parking spots right next to the docs that are for a max of 2 hours parking. They are first come first serve. So if they unloaded, and a contractor spot was empty, they could park there another 2 hours.
