QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1. RFI #1 Question: Will Submittal Exchange be acceptable for the Project Management Software?
Answer: Yes
2. RFI #2 Question: Will a QC manager with 20 plus years experience be acceptable in lieu of a graduate engineer, graduate architect or graduate of construction management?
Answer: Yes, proof of experience must be provided during submittals.
3. RFI #3 Question: Due to nature of project and phasing can the superintendent also perform the SSHO role in lieu of a separate individual for that role?
Answer: No, the SSHO must be independent from the superintendent.
4. RFI #4 Question: Due to nature of project will a professional photographer be required to provide indexing and navigation photos utilizing AUTOCAD construction drawings?
Answer: Photographer is not necessary.
5. RFI #5 Question: Is the door support elevation 2 applicable to this project? If so, is these new supports being installed on this project or is this steel existing?
Answer: Yes, the detail for door C-3-7 refers you to details 2 and C-3-7.1 New supports are to be installed for door C-3-7.
If existing which openings have this steel supports and which openings will require new support steel?
Answer: Detail 2 only applies to door C-3-7.
If new steel is required, will utilities above the ceiling allow steel install without relocating them?
Answer: No, utilities are called to be relocated/removed.
If not will drawing details be provided for each utility that requires relocating at each opening?
Answer: Contractor shall complete visual inspection prior to any demolition. If visual inspection determines existing conditions not documented in drawing set, submit RFI for further instruction.
6. RFI #6 Question: Due to nature of project will a professional photographer be required to provide indexing and navigation photos utilizing AUTOCAD construction drawings?
Answer: Photographer is not necessary.
7. RFI #7 Question: In the master specifications 1.6 Construction security requirements, Line J. Construction fencing:
It states:
J. Construction Fence: Before construction operations begin, Contractor shall provide a chain link construction fence, 2.1m (seven feet) minimum height, around the construction area indicated on the drawings. Provide gates as required for access with necessary hardware, including hasps and padlocks. Fasten fence fabric to terminal posts with tension bands and to line posts and top and bottom rails with tie wires spaced at maximum 375mm (15 inches). Bottom of fences shall extend to 25mm (on inch) above grade. Remove the fence when directed by COR.
RFI: How much area of fencing will be required?
Answer: Fencing should fully enclose any laydown space. Size of laydown space to be determined prior to mobilization based on availability at facility.
RFI: Will there be storage areas for both facilities?
Answer: Laydown space will be given/reduced at COR discretion. Initial laydown space given will be based on availability at facility at time of mobilization.

8. RFI #8 Question: Please confirm abbreviation "ETR" with in hardware schedules is short form for phrase "Existing to Remain" Clarification not found with in drawings or specs.
Answer: ETR refers to “Existing to Remain”.
