Questions and Answers Below:
1. Is building 1 the only building to be included in this scope of work?
a. Correct, only building 1.
2. Is circuit tracing required for devices other than outlets and light switches? If so, is labeling required to be visible at the device?
a. Panels should be traced and labeled in their entirety – this can include more than outlets and light switches.
b. Labels at the device are required – these should include circuit and panel numbers
3. Is medium voltage equipment included in this SOW?
a. 120/208V, 277/480V will be included.
4. What are the specifications for the panel schedules? i.e. electronic copy? Physical copy? Siz e?
Does the schedule need to be able to adhere to a surface?
a. Per the SOW, there should be two hardcopies of the panel schedule in each panel, as well as a PDF of the schedule submitted to the COR.
i. All schedules should be typed and printed
b. Sizes depend on panel manufacturer – must fit inside the panel sleeve, inside the door.
i. If the contractor prefers one standard size, they can provide a new standard sleeve/size for all panels in the project, but it is not required. It must fit inside the panel door and the contractor will need to remove the existing sleeve entirely.
5. What information needs to be provided in the panel schedule?
a. Equipment Description
b. Room Number
i. Include specific location within room, direction based on magnetic North
6. Please clarify “The contractor should verify panel schedule after tracing with shutdowns of each breaker panel. In the case of a shutdown, the contractor should give three weeks’ notice to the COTR of which breaker will be turned off and red lines of the affected devices.” See SOW. What does red lines of affected devices mean?
a. Detailed description of what they expect will be affected in the shut down – can be included in the outage request email to the COR
b. Red lines/as-builts will be required at the conclusion of the project
i. AutoCAD and PDF Form
7. Will a HEPA cart be provided by others to All-Test in the event work above ceilings is required?
a. HEPA carts will not be provided by the VA – infection control should be included in the bids
8. Will onsite parking free of charge be provided to our crew?
a. Contractors will have to find their own parking, as no parking will be permitted onsite.
9. Is there a larger scope of work that this project falls into?
a. No, this is a stand-alone project.
***END OF AMENDMENT***
Is the intent of this project to perform circuit tracing at load centers/panel boards , for only lighting and receptacle branch circuits, with the real intention to label light switches and receptacles with panel name and circuit number and update panel schedule? Or should every branch circuit be included? I.e.
hvac equipment, elevator circuits, etc.
The intent of this project is to update the panel schedules for the electrical panels within the hospital by tracing and identifying all branched circuits. The panel should be labeled in its entirety, which can include more than light switches and outlets.
Or do all feeder circuits need to be traced as well? I.e. every piece of the electrical system, from utility service entrance to switchgear, to distribution panels, including motor control centers, to load centers and then every branch circuit?
This project will not trace the entire electrical system – only the panel branched circuits, and labeling associated devices with circuit and panel numbers.
