About this file

This document contains questions and answers related to a federal contract opportunity for medical air compressors (Solicitation Number 36C24824Q0644). The key details are:

The existing medical air compressor only serves Building 1, and the temporary air system will need to match the sizing of the compressor called out in the Statement of Work. The VA is accepting alternative equipment to the specified Pattons Medical brand, which will be evaluated. This is not a "Service Contract" as defined in VAAR 852.219-75. The Buy American Act applies to the medical gas equipment. Pictures of the mechanical space are provided, but dimensions are not available. The mechanical room is located on the ground floor and is directly accessible from outside. The new system may need to be disassembled to fit in the room, depending on the size. The existing distribution piping is 2 inches, and the intake piping is a 4-inch riser. The intake piping does not contain soft solder. The new system will be installed in the same location as the existing system, and a dedicated breaker will be provided. The temporary medical air system will be required to tie into the master alarms.
