About this file

This document is a set of Questions and Answers related to a federal contract opportunity for Medical Air Compressors, Solicitation Number 36C24824Q0644, issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 8.

The key details are:

  • The existing medical air compressor only serves Building 1, not the entire facility. The VA is accepting quotes for alternative equipment to the specified Patton's Medical brand, and the Buy American Act applies to the medical gas equipment.
  • The mechanical room for the new system is located on the ground floor and is directly accessible from outside. The new system may need to be disassembled to fit in the mechanical room, depending on the size. The distribution piping is 2 inches and the intake piping is 4 inches, with no soft solder that requires replacement.
  • The temporary medical air system will require a dedicated breaker and must be tied into the facility's master alarms for monitoring critical parameters.
