About this file

This document is a brand name justification attachment for a federal solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center requires replacement of overhead patient lifts and motors in various patient care areas totaling 9 rooms. The lifts must be compatible with the medical center's existing Likorall brand overhead lift system to ensure safety, functionality, and uniformity. Only the Likorall product line was determined able to meet these needs. The justification cites FAR 13 authority to restrict competition based on brand name. Market research found multiple authorized Likorall distributors available. The anticipated cost is deemed fair and reasonable. Solicitation 36C24722Q0550 will be competed on SAM.gov for the Likorall patient lifts.
