About this file

This document contains a federal contract opportunity solicitation and related shielding calculations for an interventional radiology suite renovation project. The solicitation is for relocating and upgrading the angiography suite at the VA New Jersey Health Care System facility in East Orange, New Jersey. The estimated cost range for the project is $2 million to $5 million. The scope of work involves general construction, structural alterations, asbestos abatement, HVAC, plumbing and electrical work to renovate space on the first floor for the new angiography suite. The shielding calculations provide recommendations for lead shielding requirements on walls, windows, doors and other penetrations for the interventional radiology suite based on the room layout and projected workloads. The solicitation response due date will be included in the solicitation document to be posted on SAM.gov on or around December 4, 2020. The project has a 365 calendar day completion deadline and requires bonding. The opportunity is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses.
