CONTINUATION PAGE
General RFI Based on Amendment 0002
1) The amendment deleted all work in the corridors 1-241 and 1-231A apart from a small area where a new double door / partition is going in connecting these two corridors (this small area receives new floor tile directly below the new door). Work deleted includes, asbestos abatement of the mastic and floor demo, wall renovations, demo and installation of new ceilings. Please confirm.
Response: CONFIRMED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF WALL RENOVATIONS IN THOSE LOCATIONS WHERE EXISTING OPENINGS ARE CLOSED AND NEW OPENINGS INSTALLED. IN THESE AREAS, THE CONTRACTOR IS TO INSTALL WAINSCOT, BASE, PAINTED GWB, AND INSTALL HANDRAILS; ALL TO MATCH EXISTING.
2) The amendment does not specify what drawings and details the revised drawings supersede so we do not know which aspects of the original drawings remain. Please advise.
Response: REVISIONS ARE CAPTURED WITHIN THE CLOUDED AREAS OF THE DRAWINGS.
AA100 – ELIMINATES ABATEMENT WORK IN 1-231A AND 1-241.
AD100 – REDUCES EXTENT OF DEMOLITION TO AREAS AS CONFIRMED ABOVE WITH CLOUD ALSO ELIMINATING REFERENCE TO KEY NOTES WITHIN THE CORRIDOR.
AS101 – RCP IS ADJUSTED IN CLOUDED AREA(S) TO ELIMINATE CEILING WORK IN CORRIDORS 1-231A AND 1-241 EXCEPT IN AREA OF DOUBLE DOOR ENTRY AS CONFIRMED ABOVE.
AS203 – PARTIAL PLANS HIGHLIGHT CHANGES IN CLOUDED AREA(S) TO ELIMINATE WORK IN CORRIDORS 1-231A AND 1-241 EXCEPT IN AREA OF DOUBLE DOOR ENTRY AS CONFIRMED ABOVE AND CONSISTENT WITH CHANGES TO AD100 AND AS101.
3) Also- please confirm the small area in the corridor receiving new flooring does not contain asbestos, as it will require demo of the existing flooring to install the new.
Response: CONFIRMED.
4) The question/answer #15 from the amendment appears to contradict the work in the corridors is deleted by stating they are to receive new wainscot. Please confirm what is the extent of work required in these areas, if any.
Response: REFER TO RESPONSE ABOVE, ITEM #1.
