About this file
This document is an Invitation to Bid (ITB) from the Connecticut Air & Space Center for the Curtiss Hangar Renovations - Phase 1 project, solicitation number 30829. The project involves restoration and renovation of a historic hangar building located at 225B Main Street in Stratford, Connecticut, which will become the future home of the Connecticut Air & Space Center Museum. The base bid work includes structural repairs, installation of a new EPDM membrane roof system with insulation and flashings, masonry repairs and repointing of exterior walls, plastic infill windows, and partial enclosure of the hangar door wall with new rolling doors. The bid period runs from June 17, 2025, at 4:30 PM EDT to July 08, 2025, at 2:00 PM EDT, with a vendor Q&A period from June 17, 2025, at 4:45 PM EDT to June 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM EDT.
The solicitation is open to all vendors, with delivery terms specified as Free On Board Destination and payment terms to be vendor-specified. Bismark Construction Co. Inc., represented by Ron Rossomando Jr., is the primary contact for the project. No specific budget range or total contract value is explicitly stated, which suggests flexibility in vendor proposals. The procurement does not outline specific set-aside designations or incumbent vendor information. Potential bidders will need to demonstrate expertise in structural restoration, roofing systems, masonry repair, and historic building renovation. The project appears to be a comprehensive restoration effort focused on preparing the historic hangar for future museum use, with no additional integration requirements or specialized qualifications mentioned in the available documentation.
