1. Question: The term “ransom” in the demolition scope is unclear—does this refer to the transom/mullions/frames?

Answer: That term references the transom.

2. Question: Are any hazardous materials (lead, asbestos, glazing compounds) expected in the existing system?

Answer: No. There are no records of any hazardous materials location. The flooring may have a chance of asbestos in the tile glue. But this should be of no concern, since door frame is not attached to flooring.

3. Question: Please confirm required standards: UL 752/N.I.J. Level III for ballistic and ASTM/Florida approval for hurricane resistance.

Answer: That is sufficient.

4. Question: Are there requirements for thermal/air/water performance, finish/corrosion protection, or insulated ballistic glazing?

Answer: The finish needs to be corrosion protected and window/doors will have a glaze.

5. Question: Beyond listed hardware, are automatic operators, panic devices, or push plates required?

Answer: There are push plates on existing doors to exit building.

6. Question: For electric strike integration, please clarify: existing security system details, credential type, programming responsibilities, and acceptance testing.

1. Answer: The existing strike system is operated by a button located in communication room that unlocks the door when pressed. The is also a buzzer for guest to press to alert that someone needs let in.

Answer: At this time, the entire project is to be completed in this window.

8. Question: If material lead times exceed 35 days, will schedule extensions or phased work be acceptable?

Answer: Extensions must be requested and are not guaranteed.

9. Question: Please specify regular work hours and the approval process for overtime or weekend work.

Answer: Regular work hours are Monday through Friday 9AM Eastern Standard Time (EST) through 5PM EST excluding Federal Holidays. No work shall be performed on Federal Holidays. Any work past normal will have to be approved by the contracting officer.

10. Question: Which authority handles required permits, local or federal?

Answer: Federal.

11. Question: Please clarify the LOTO/fire system approval workflow and any hazardous waste reporting requirements.

Answer: Contractor will follow OSHA safety standards, and work with engineering supervisor before securing any electrical breakers or implementing LOTO procedure.

Answer: The contractor shall ensure their submission conforms to the DBA labor requirements.

13. Question: Please confirm that Executive Order 14026 minimum wage also applies. Please see below Executive Order 14026 was a Biden-era directive, signed in 2021, that significantly increased the minimum wage for federal contractors to $15 per hour, with annual adjustments for inflation. However, President Trump rescinded Executive Order 14026 on March 14, 2025, ending the higher minimum wage for federal contractors. The Department of Labor (DOL) has stated it will no longer enforce this order or its associated regulations.

Answer: Minimum Wages shall be in accordacne with the DBA Wage Determination for this requirement.

14. Question: Confirm required penal sum for payment/performance bonds.

Answer: Please refer to FAR 52.228-13.
