About this file
This document is an Affidavit of Compliance with Living Wage Provision from the Milwaukee Public Library, related to the City of Milwaukee's Ordinance 310-13 on service contract requirements. The document outlines the living wage rates that contractors must adhere to when performing work for the city, with specific base wage requirements that have been updated over time. As of October 8, 2022, the living wage rate was raised to $15.00 per hour for all new contracts, with an annual adjustment based on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services guidelines for family income.
The living wage table provides a comprehensive history of wage rate changes from March 1, 1995, to October 8, 2022, showing incremental increases from $6.05 to $15.00 per hour. Contractors are required to pay all workers, both full-time and part-time, at least the specified living wage rate, submit sworn affidavits every three months during the contract term, and ensure that no rebates or refunds are taken from employees. The ordinance aims to ensure fair compensation for workers on city service contracts, with provisions for regular updates to the minimum wage rate based on family income guidelines.
