The term extends through successful completion of the preliminary engineering phase, with potential extension for construction engineering and inspection activities.

Pricing for the contract will be negotiated following selection and may be structured as lump sum, cost-plus fixed fee, cost per unit of work, or specific rate of compensation. All consultant teams must be prequalified by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) in specified area classes, with the prime consultant required to hold prequalification in at least half of the required classes including Two-Lane or Multi-lane Rural Roadway Design, Two-Lane or Multi-lane Urban Roadway Design, and Facilities for Bicycles and Pedestrians.
