About this file
Sarasota County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) #252776MN for State Lobbying Services. The RFI seeks to identify firms qualified to provide professional lobbying services at the state level, with the goal of potentially selecting a vendor to act as the County's primary contact for representation, consultation, and advocacy with State legislative and executive agencies, boards, and councils. The RFI is a potential first step in a two-step process that may lead to a formal solicitation, with responses limited to 50 pages and submitted through the OpenGov platform. Respondents are expected to demonstrate experience in state legislative and executive processes, provide documentation of state lobbyist registration, and show a minimum of five years of lobbying experience for Florida counties or cities.
The RFI emphasizes that no contract will be directly awarded as a result of this request, and the County does not guarantee a formal solicitation will be generated. Respondents are advised that their submitted materials may become part of the public record and could be used in designing a future solicitation. The County may, at its discretion, invite selected respondents to provide additional information or presentations, with the potential to award one or more contracts under Section 2-218 (h) of the Sarasota County Procurement Code. This is a re-solicitation of a previous RFI (252747MN), and firms that previously responded are encouraged to reaffirm their interest. Respondents are recommended to review the County's standard Consultant Agreement template, which may be used in a potential future contract.
