Amendment #4 Questions and Answers (Q&A)

Question 1: On the fire doors- we are not going back with lead lined correct?

Answer 1: Correct, we are not maintaining the lead-lining of the room including the doors. Wood doors are 20 minutes smoke rated minimum, 1-3/4” solid bond, red oak machined, Sherwin Williams “Fruitwood” stained.

Question 2: Wood species of door type of veneer?

Answer 2: Red oak

Question 3: Size metal studs?

Answer 3: 3-5/8” wide and either matching gauge or 25 gauge/required by code. New walls shall be properly braced above the ceiling for horizontal support.

Question 4: How tall are you wanting the actual accordion wall?

Answer 4: Depends according to what manufacturer provides and according to the header that has to be built for the accordion wall. 8’ tall would be ideal if the header allows for it.

Question 5: Can you tell me how much wall covering is needed and where it is located. It looks like it is in the corridor where the door is moving.

Answer 5: I notice I left out how far down to move the south door opening. It is to be moved 1’4” to the South.

I corrected it on the SOW and on Attachment B.

The answer to the square footage of wall covering with the changes above should be self-evident. The north door opening is made wider and taller, and should not require any wall paper. Since the South door is being moved South 1’4”, vendors will need to replace enough wall covering to cover the new wall from floor to the 9’ ceiling, so the answer would be at least 1’4” wide x 9’, and the maximum would be the width of the wall paper x 9’.
