About this file
This document is an Addendum for the Monroe High School HVAC Upgrades project, issued by the Dougherty County Board of Education in Albany, Georgia. The addendum modifies the original specifications and drawings dated September 22, 2023, including changes to the bid date, bid form, and instructions to bidders. It also provides answers to questions from the pre-bid meeting, such as clarifying that Davis-Bacon wages are not required and that the contractor must be a Georgia licensed contractor. The addendum revises multiple sections of the bid documents, including changes to the allowances, instrumentation and controls, condensing boilers, heat exchangers, cooling towers, split-system air conditioners, and variable refrigerant flow systems.
The base bid for the project is a lump sum amount covering the HVAC upgrades at five schools: Albany Middle School, Merry Acres Middle School, Monroe High School, Radium Springs Elementary School, and Robert Cross Middle School. The bid also includes specific allowances for each school. Bidders are required to submit a bid bond, qualifications, non-collusion certification, and other documentation with their proposals. The project is expected to be awarded to a single Georgia licensed contracting firm that will serve as the prime contractor responsible for coordinating the work of all trades and ensuring the project is completed by October 30, 2024.

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS FROM PRE-BID MEETING
1. Question: Are Davis Bacon Wages required for this project?
Answer: No
2. Question: At the pre-bid meeting it was mentioned that an addendum would come out changing the bid date. When will this happen?
Answer: Addressed in this addendum.

What would exclude a mechanical contractor from being just that as they can manage and hire subs also?
Answer: The contractor shall be a Georgia licensed contractor qualified to perform the work in accordance with the licensing requirements of the State of Georgia.
4. Is Monroe High School the only one needing new controls and the rest keep existing? I just want to verify this information to be correct.
Answer: All projects are to receive new controls.
5. What software would you prefer to be used by the winning contractor to be compatible with your system as relating to management purposes?
