SOLICITATION QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Contract Opportunities Notice ID 20124706 Amendment One

USBP Yuma Temporary Shelter Systems

1. QUESTION: In the interest of meeting DHS’s “Green” Affirmative Procurement Plan (APP) policy, will you accept (2) 20’ wide x 39’ long x 10’ high shelters that are so well insulated that they can meet the internal temperatures of +40ºF to +80ºF in ambient temperatures ranging from -25ºF to +125ºF with only (1) 5-ton military ECU per each shelter, and still meet all of the other shelter requirements?

ANSWER: Yes

2. QUESTION: If the answer is yes to question #1, will you accept (1) 36kW generator that can provide power to the (2) 20’ x 39’ shelters and (2) 5-ton ECUs with only (1) external power distribution panel?

ANSWER: Yes

3. QUESTION: If the answer is no to question #1, will you accept (2) 20kW generators, 1 for each 20’ x

39’ shelter with one 5-ton ECU, that can be connected directly with the shelter and ECU without the use of an external power distribution panel?

ANSWER: N/A

4. QUESTION: Do the generators need to come with a 1-year spares kit? If so, please list the spare parts required in the kit.

ANSWER: No

5. QUESTION: We RENT our equipment to Government Agencies. Our tents include powered climate control, interior lights, up to 2 ADA compliant door/thresholds and delivery & set up. (570 Sq. Ft each) Can this be an option for you?

6. QUESTION: Must the items being solicited be on GSA schedule, other than a deminimis amount of $35,000 or less in open market accessory items?

ANSWER: No, this is not a GSA acquisition.

7. QUESTION: Would you accept the ECUs in the color grey?

8. QUESTION: Due to the 30-day after receipt of order delivery timeline requirement, will the government accept split shipments?

9. QUESTION: There does not appear to be a requirement for power distribution cables to provide power from the generators to the Power Distribution Units for the ECU’s -- Recommend the government add 2EA 200amp cables at a minimum of 100ft in length

ANSWER: As per SOW Appendix 1, under 5-Ton ECU, 25-30ft power cable is required.
