The project seeks proposals from pavement marking contractors to install new durable methacrylate (MMA) pavement markings to replace worn epoxy markings. The scope includes markings in widths of 6 inches, 16 inches, and 24 inches across various intersections and roadways throughout the city. Bidders must submit proposals through Bonfire by 11:30 AM CDT on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. The successful contractor will be announced at the City Commission meeting on Monday, April 13, 2026, with a Notice to Proceed issued on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. The contract completion date is November 1, 2026, with a requirement that all work be completed within one summer season. The bid sheet identifies 50 line items across the 26 sites with a combined total of approximately 4,765 linear feet of various width markings. Selection criteria prioritize cost, contractor ability to complete work within the summer season, and previous work experience. Two points of contact from the contractor must be provided with work phone numbers and email addresses. There is no preconstruction meeting required, and no bid bond or contract bond is necessary.
Pricing terms require unit prices rounded to the nearest hundredth, with payment available as frequently as every two weeks and a 5% retainage until project completion. No liquidated damages apply to this contract. The contractor must comply with the City of Fargo Standard Specifications Sections 4000 and 4100, including detailed requirements for surface preparation, material selection from MnDOT Approved/Qualified Products Lists, traffic control conforming to the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, and noise restrictions prohibiting work between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. The contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, surface preparation, and traffic control costs, which are considered incidental to the project. The contractor must maintain Worker's Compensation, Comprehensive General Liability, and Automobile insurance throughout the contract term. All rejected or defective work must be corrected or replaced at the contractor's expense. A one-year warranty from the acceptance date is required, and the contractor shall enforce all manufacturer warranties.
