Statement of Work (SOW)

1. INTRODUCTION: The 137 Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron requires the purchase of the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) program subscription, utilized in required training of Aeromedical Evacuation Crew Members (AECM) and ground personell as well as 137th SOMDG Clinicians and support staff.

2. BACKGROUND: Competency in life saving techniques is an integral part of maintaining the clinical proficiency level of the 67 AES flight nurses and aeromedical evacuation technicians and 75 SOMDG (10 Providers, 7 RNs and 58 Other) assigned to WRANGB. The RQI program is a best practice solution offered by The American Heart Association to provide Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training to healthcare and prehospital workers. The technology offered is evidence based, has been shown to decrease patient mortality by 20% and has become the standard of clinical care training for healthcare companies around the nation. The purchase of this subscription would not only allow 137th SOW members to be in alignment with their civilian counterparts, but would also permit them to maintain continual competency thereby removing the requirement for a full day refresher ever two years. For AE alone this would reduce the training time burden by more than 200 training hours per year just for BLS. RQI would also increase the advanced clinical training capability of WRANGB by offering ACLS and PALS which are currently obtained by members at personal cost.
