19PM0725Q0021 Questions and Answers

1. In the case where the fresh air duct located above the supply duct of an air handling unit is going to be replaced, during the replacement process, is it necessary to first dismantle the supply duct of the air handling unit before installing the fresh air duct?

a. Yes, it is mandatory to dismantle the supply duct.

2. Could we install ducts in P3 reinforced with threaded rods temporarily, given that we have very limited time over a weekend, and leave the equipment (air handling units) operational during the week?

a. Yes. Both P3 DUCTAL and PIRALU are acceptable materials/brands as a temporary fix, with rod bar reinforcement.

b. Internal ROD BAR INSTALLATION (Suspended or horizontal ducts) must be according to the following procedure:

i. Rod bars shall be installed horizontally across the short side of the duct.

ii. Spacing Between Rod Bars:

1. Max 1000 mm longitudinally.

2. Max 500 mm between the rod and duct sidewalls.

iii. Rod ends must be anchored to the external duct face using:

1. Riveted aluminum angle brackets or

2. Threaded inserts with washer plates on both faces.

3. Should the threaded rods be kept, or do they need to be replaced entirely?

a. Threaded rods must be kept to the extent practical, assuring structural compliance and safety conditions proper to this work standards.

b. Any change or replacement must follow the FAR 52.243-4 CHANGES (JUN 2007) described in the Section H – Clauses from the 25Q0021 – Attachment to SF18.

4. During what working hours will this project be carried out?

a. This project will follow the following hours schedule:

i. Monday to Thursday: 7:30a.m. to 4:30p.m.

ii. Friday: 8:00a.m. to 12:00p.m.

b. Work outside the above mentioned schedule must be coordinated in advance with the COR.
