Questions and Answers
1. Do the Cessna 208 Caravans have cargo pods installed?
Answer: Yes.
2. What NVG STC#’s apply to each aircraft so we can contact the NVG equipment supplier and verify cost for compatibility of the new parts installed?
Answer: Ahlers and Aero Dynamix
3. There are requirements for a Bell 206L III helicopter, but the price sheet has a "0"for quantity. Should the price sheet show 1 for quantity?
Answer: The contractor should provide a proposed rate even though the quantity is “0” in four of the years. Quantity is estimated based on current information but could change over time. Under an IDIQ type contract, this CLIN for Bell 206L III could be ordered if needed.
A quantity of “1” is purposely indicated in CLIN 3002.
4. How many aircraft have Garmin Avionics equipment? It states that the aircraft that do not have Garmin equipment will require a flip up monitor for the pilot.
Answer: All Airbus AS350B2 are Garmin G500H
G1000 Bell 407 - 2 each G500 Cessna U206G – 8 each G500 Cessna TU206G – 1 each G500 Cessna U206G Soloy – 2 each G1000 Cessna 206H – 10 each G500 Cessna T206H – 5 each G1000 Cessna T206H – 1 each G1000 Cessna 208B – 1 each G600 Cessna 208B – 1 each
(Quantities are approximate)
5. Will you consider a fuselage mount for the U206G Soloy aircraft so they will be the same as all the other Cessna 206 installations?
Answer: No, due to the unique design of the engine exhaust, the engine exhaust would obscure a fuselage mounted camera.
6. Do all aircraft have Technisonic radios installed?
Answer: All DEA aircraft have Technisonic radios. It should be noted that not all aircraft have the rear mounted Technisonic remote control head (RC-6000, RC- 7000 or RC-9000).
7. What are the locations or bases where the training will be conducted?
Answer: Aircraft are located in most major CONUS cities. Due to the sensitivity of aircraft locations, a list cannot be provided at this time. A list will be provided after contract award.
8. Which aircraft and how many of each aircraft have the G500 or G1000 currently installed?
Answer: See answer to question 4.
9. Who completed the existing NVG modifications on the aircraft instruments?

20. Section 2 Due to the unknown total quantity of aircraft that will be guaranteed we request that the government (USG) add a CLIN in all years for Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) or even separate NRE CLINs for each aircraft type. This will ensure the best price to the USG and reduce risk for the contractor.
Answer: A CLIN will be added for Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE).
21. Section 2 Please clarify if the quantity for CLINs X007 represent the number of locations and associated classes to be performed.
Answer: See answer to question 7.
22. Section 2, 2.1 Please define the first delivery order. Will it be for all quantities in the base period? This is needed to properly quote non-recurring engineering if NRE CLINs are not added.
Answer: See answer to question 20. All quantities are estimates for the program but delivery orders will be issued on an as needed basis. Estimated quantities are not guaranteed under an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quatity (IDIQ) contract.
23. Section 3, 2.0 Scope
Please identify which aircraft models and quantities have existing imaging systems to be removed as this affects labor hours quoted.
Answer: See answer to question 14.
24. Section 3, 3.0 Performance Requirements The current solicitation does not identify which aircraft and quantities are equipped with a Garmin Avionics System. Therefore, we cannot accurately quote the quantity of flip-up stowable monitors are required. We request that the USG add CLINs in all years for Garmin and non-Garmin equipped aircraft, by model.
Answer: See answer to question 4.
25. Section 3, 3.0 Performance Requirements All aircraft model subsections state the monitors must have “two HD-SDI video inputs”, but also state that “Both monitors shall be configured for quad screen operation and shall be capable of displaying video from all sensors and ARS mission management system data”.
