QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
MDC BROOKLYN
15BBRO19B00000001 - PROJECT 2C9L
SUBMITTED BY GEMSTAR CONSTRUCTION CORP.:
1. QCV Mgr your answer says it may be waived by the BOP Officer, so if I include the “X” amount of dollars in my bid and give the government back “$Y dollars”
BOP Answer: The BOP does not intend to wave this requirement.
2. So do I re-configure the piping at the fills? This should have been looked at during the pre bid walk
BOP Response: This was answered in question 6 and 7 of the last response.
Plans call for new 15 gallon fill boxes along 29ST. If there is no side spacing the pipe needs to be re-configured (see #4)
Dewberry Response: Correct. Clarification.
What is the burial depth of the fill pipe? Shallow fill boxes may be required at a greater expense
Dewberry Response: Depth is unknown. Reconfigure pipes (#6) or provide shallow boxes as required. Clarification.
3. You need the depth of the fills, even if shallow boxes are used. I am bidding per the spec!
Dewberry Response:
Depth is unknown. Construct the project in accordance with both the drawings and the specifications. Drawings do not dictate which type of fill box to be used. Coordinate with existing conditions.
4. We need an asphalt spec so all bidders are bidding the same. Usually it is 2, 3 & 6” RCA base
BOP Response: Asphalt patchwork shall be repaired/replaced to match the thickness and conditions prior to removal. Patching will result in equal or better performance characteristics.
