About this file

This document is an amendment to a solicitation for the Kortes Elevator Modernization BUILD project. The amendment provides revisions to the safety personnel requirements, including changing the required on-site presence of a certified industrial hygienist from once per month to once per week during asbestos and coating activities. It also changes the proposal due date from May 19, 2023 to May 24, 2023 at 1300 Mountain Time and answers two questions about the safety personnel requirements. Offerors must acknowledge receipt of the amendment by the new due date in order to be considered for award of the contract. The solicitation is issued by the Bureau of Reclamation within the Department of the Interior for modernization of the Kortes Elevator at Kortes Dam.

Additional Questions and Answers

15. Section 01 35 30 of the RFP outlines that both a Contractors Onsite Safety Representative and a Part Time Safety and Health Professional is required. Can the Contractors Onsite Safety Representative perform both functions? We anticipate full time support in place with a senior level Safety/IH professional as the Contractors Onsite Safety Representative. We are not clear on what value an additional part time person would bring when we are staffing with a senior position already.

A: Refer to 01 35 30 B3c. No. Contractor Onsite Safety Representative and Part Time Safety and Health/CIH cannot be the same person. Only the Part Time Onsite Safety and Health Professional and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist will be approved as the same person.

16. Section 01 35 30 of the RFP outlines that the Certified Industrial Hygienist is required to make site visits during the start- up of asbestos removal activities and coating removal and application activities. Can you clarify if this is required one time per week or per month?

A: See Revised 01 35 30 Part time Safety and Health Professional and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist are required to be on-site once a week.

NO FURTHER QUESTIONS WILL BE ADDRESSED PRIOR TO PROPOSAL DUE
